18th Annual
Eid Meelaad-un-Nabi (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam)
Report Back
Alhamdulillah,
another successful event hosted by the
Saaberie Chisty Society
The
atmosphere was full of joyous celebration in Lenasia
Extension 6, Johannesburg, South Africa particularly the
surroundings of the Saaberie Chishty Masjid where the
18th Annual Meelaad-un-Nabi (sallal laahu alaihi
wasallam ) celebrations were taking place on Friday 30th,
Saturday 31st March and Sunday 1st April 2007. The
vicinity where the celebrations were taking place were
lit up with decor lightings as well as banners and
posters praising our Master Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa (sallal
laahu alaihi wasallam ).
The
celebrations began on Friday night after Eshah Salaah
with a Khatme Yaseen Shareef followed by a vibrant
Halqa-e-Zikr, learners of the Saaberie Chishty
Zia-ul-Uloom added splendor to the gathering by
beautifully presenting Naat-e-Rasool (sallal laahu
alaihi wasallam ), other local prominent Naat reciters
were also granted an opportunity to present Naat Shareef.
The Programme terminated with a Salaam and Dua.
Saturday
night being the 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal was most certainly
a "Big Night". In fact the night even greater than the
"Night of Power" (Laylatul Qadr) The night on which
Allah's beloved, our Master Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa (sallal
laahu alaihi wasallam ) was born. Certainly a great
favour upon the believers, and Allah commands us to
celebrate upon receiving His favours, what greater
favour can there be for a believer than the "Mercy unto
the entire universe".
The
programme at the Masjid "Mehfil-e-Naat" started after
Esha Salaah with a Qiraat recital by Qari Aboobaker
Shammaas who from the very onset captivated the
attention of the participants followed by various Naat
reciters. A student of the Saaberie Chishty Zia-ul-Uloom
Hafez Muhammad Ayat presented a Naat Shareef in the
Swati language based on the Urdu Naat "Aankho Ka Tara"
which was well received by the audience. Qari Zahid
Ahmed Zahidi in his own unique style further motivated
the listeners by his beautiful Naat recital as well as
his brief but informative message on the birth of the
Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam ) Qari
Aboobaker Shammaas was the guest Naat reciter and
terminating the programme just pass midnight was Qari
Moosa Raza from India.Qari Aboobaker Shammaas lead the
participants through the Salaat-o-Salaam and Moulana
Sayed Yusuf concluded the programme with Durood-e-Taj
and Dua-e-Khair. Niaz refreshment was served to all.
Sunday
the final day of the 3 day programme commenced
at 9:30am with a Juloos (march past) led by the Lenasia
Muslim Brigade and the Pretoria Muslim Brigade. Ulama,
teachers, parents and students of the Saaberie Chishty
Zia-ul-Uloom and learners of Madressa Saabriyya
participated in the March chanting slogans of "Naara-eTakbeer"
and "Naaraa-e-Risaalat" whilst marching down
Flamingo
street towards the main venue of the Meelaad-un-Nabi (sallal
laahu
alaihi wasallam ) carrying banners and flags in
praise
of Allah's beloved our
Nabi Hazrat Muhammad
Mustafa (sallal laahu alai hi wasallam ) At about 10;30
am the Juloos reached its destination i.e. Saaberie
Chishty Masjid where the Pretoria Muslim Brigade were
saluted by senior members of the Saaberie Chishty
Society playing the tune of the "Muslim Anthem" (Yaa
Allahu Yaa Allah we are your servants Yaa Allah) The
Lenasia Muslim Brigade were saluted while playing the
tune of "Yaa Nabi Salaam Alay Ka" . The guest of honour
Moulana Hafez Fuzail Soofie terminated this session with
a Dua-e-Khair.
At around
10:30am the marquee was already half filled with anxious
parents waiting to listen to their children presenting
items in praise of Allah and His beloved Rasool (sallal
laahu alaihi wasallam ) Learners of Madressa Saaberiyya
Chistiyya and Saaberie Chishty Zia-ul-Uloom were
afforded an opportunity to present items which included
Qiraat, Naat recitals as well as speeches both in Urdu
and English. Educators at the institute should be
complimented for their efforts in preparing the learners
for this magnificent programme despite it being held
during the holidays. May Allah grant the educators as
well as the learners their reward in this world and the
hereafter... Ameen Summa Ameen.
As
members of the Society and volunteers remove the side
walls of the marquee to accommodate the already packed
marquee, the main programme commences with another
melodious recitation of the Holy Quraan by Qari
Aboobaker Shaammas who instantly commands "a pin drop
silence". Then came Qari Zahid Ahmed Zahidi who threw
his spell on the crowd by presenting a Naat Shareef
which brought tears to many eyes. Qari Aboobaker
Shammaas also read a Naat Shareef followed by a Manqabat
