By the grace of Allah, The Saaberie Chishty Youth Society hosted a successful fundraising dinner in Durban on Friday the 23rd February 2007.

The aim and object behind the fundraising dinner was to enlighten the Community about and obtain funds for the restoration and development of the Darbaar of Hazrat Khwaaja Shamsuddin Turk Panipati (Rahmatulla alaih) in Panipat, India.

The Mosque and Mazaar of Hazrat Khwaaja Shamsuddin Turk Panipati (Rahmatulla alaih) was recently after decades of negotiations at the highest levels relinquished by its Sikh owners in favour of our beloved Murshid Hazrat Ghulam Jilaani Kalyari who is based at and is the head Khaadim at the Darbaar of Hazrat Saabir Paak (Rahmatulla alaih) in Kalyar Sharief. The restoration project which is presently underway is headed personally by Hazrat Ghulam Jilaani Kalyari.

The dinner was well attended by more than a thousand people including the Sayed Brothers and key committee members of the Saaberi Chishty Youth Society of Lenasia, Johannesburg, many Ulama and the Sajjadanasheen of the Mazaar of Hazrat Soofie Saheb and Hazrat Baadsha Peer (Rahmatulla alaih)-Hazrat Shah Mohammad Saeed Soofie.

Our guest speaker-Hafez Fuzail Soofie delivered an inspiring talk highlighting the Chistia order and Hazrat Khwaaja Shamsuddin Turk Panipati (Rahmatulla alaih).Imam Irshaad Soofie presented a 15 minute dvd presentation that showed the official opening of the Mosque of Khwaaja Shamsuddin (Rahmatulla alaih) that was sealed for decades, the poor condition in which the Mazaar was in when it was handed over and the major renovations and extension work that has been done to date.

May the Khwajagaan accept the humble efforts of the youth who put together this fundraising dinner.
