Saaberie Chishty Qurbani 2007 - Malawi
Expanded Beyond Expectation
The
Qurbani Malawi project overseen by Saaberie Chishty
has expanded rapidly, from just 50 animals in 1997
to over 420 cattle in 2007. This shows the trust
which the South African and International Muslim
Community has on the society. From one distribution
point in 1997 to over 66 slaughtering and
distribution points in 2007, nationally in Malawi.
The distribution is done from the Ibadat and Jumma
masjids sponsored and maintained by South African
Muslim Community.
This year
2007 Qurbani was performed under the supervision of
Saaberie Chishty representatives; Brother Aboobaker
Sayed, Allauddin Sayed, and Mr. Muhammad Sabour of
Kelvin Muslim Community.
All
Village names and points of distribution are
available at the Saaberie offices. For those
wishing to join our delegates to Malawi this year
are requested to register their names with us 60
days before Eid. The society is planning to have 30
slaughtering points and 75 distribution point areas
countrywide. In the near future we are also
planning to empower the local community to breed
cattle on commercial basis to fight poverty which is
rife in this Southern Africa country.
Malawi has
the highest Muslim population in the region. It
needs a lot of support from the World Muslim
Community. Saaberie Chishty is managing one Jumma
Masjid, and is intending to build the second one
this year.
On behalf
of the beneficiaries of the meat, the temporary and
permanent workers who look after the cattle
throughout the year, Saaberie Chishty executives and
members would like to express our gratitude and
appreciation to all donors, well wishers and all who
entrusted that qurbani upon us. Insha-Allah Allah
swt grant you and your families peace, safety and
barakah in your daily business.
"It is not their meat not their blood that reached
Allah: it is your piety that reaches Him: He has
thus made them subject to you, that you may glorify
Allah for his guidance to you: And proclaim the good
news to all who do right." (SurahHajj;verse 37)
