| SAABERIE CHISHTY URS SHAREEF - 2010 |
| On
the 2nd and 3rd July 2010, the Saaberie Chishty Society, its members and the
Sayed Brothers hosted their annual Urs Shareef in honour of Hazrat Khwaja
Mueenudeen Ghareebun Nawaaz and Hazrat Saabir Alahudeen Kalyari (May God be
pleased with them). The Two day programme was a great success. On Friday the Mehfil-e-Naat programme began with the first Naat recited by 5 year old Sayed Haseen-ud-Deen. This programme featured many brilliant Naat Khwaans. Some of the guest reciters were from Maputo and India. The South African guest Naat Khwaans were Hafez Kifaayat Ziaee, Hafez Aslam Ziaee, Hafez Nur Muhamed Ziaee and Hafez Riaz. On Saturday the programme began with the Khatme Khwaajigaan. After Asr the Lenasia Muslim Brigade with members of the community together marched from the Saaberie Chishty Masjid in ext 6 to Gulistaane Saabri – 21 Dahlia Avenue Ext 2. After Maghrib Langar (Supper) was served to all present. After Esha a brief programme was held educating the gathering about Urs Shareef and its significance. The guests of honour were, Hazrat Qibla Sayed Jilani Mia Ashrafi and his son Hazrat Allama Sayed Husaini Mia Asharafi from India. They delivered Imaan inspiring discourses. Sayed Sajaad made his first official appearance as an up coming Qawwaal. Saajid and Party, a group of young talent amazed the crowd with their performance as well. The Famous and talented Nizaami brothers of India were the guest Qawwaals. The Nizaami Brothers continued till the early hours of Sunday morning. Honourable Mr Vikram, High Commissioner of Indian Embassy – Jhb also graced the programme.
