Reason for Establishment:

To make available an Islamic funeral and burial service that caters for the Muslims primarily of Lenasia and surrounding areas.

Source of Funding:

Where families of the deceased can afford the cost of the mayyit, a fee is charged. In destitute cases there is no charge. Items such as planks, masala, kaffan, coffins  (for international mayyits) are donated to the society. This aids the society in covering the cost of destitute mayyits. The shortfall in funding is aided by means of donations.

This is a 24hr burial service that was established in 1982. In addition to catering for the needs of the Muslim community of Lenasia and surrounding areas the Society also deals with National and International Mayyits.

The Society has undertaken to do all Muslim funerals in and around Lenasia, Eldorado Park, Ennerdale, Klipspruit, Soweto, Poortjie, All informal settlements around Lenasia and wherever called upon.

The society arranges for remains to be flown throughout Southern Africa as well as Pakistan, India, Palestine, Iran, Turkey, and Dubai.

The society provides comprehensive service at times of grief - it supplies bereaved families with tables, chairs, degs, crockery, etc. At no cost.
The Burial society handles in excess 40 burials monthly. Approximately 60% of burials are from destitute background and your generosity assists the society to assist them freely.
